CENTENARY TOPS CEDAR CREST IN LACROSSE ACTION


Hackettstown, NJ (March 25, 2009) – The Centenary College lacrosse team topped Cedar Crest College, 18-7, in Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon.

Cedar Crest was led by junior Amanda Dombroski, who tallied four goals and one assist for the Falcons.  Junior Brittany Symbol added two goals, while junior Kelly Oakes added one goal and a season-high seven ground balls.  Sophomore Maureen Manning tallied an assist on Symbol’s first goal. 

Junior Megan Mars led the way for Centenary with four goals and three assists, while freshman Danielle Bay finished with three goals and one assist. Senior Michelle Garone posted three goals, one assist and seven groundballs and junior Kiti Ovaskainen recorded three goals and a game-high 10 groundballs.

Cedar Crest junior goalkeeper Devin Ursini made 17 saves in the loss, while Centenary’s junior goalkeeper Leslie Ann Pritchard stopped four shots in the win.

With the loss, Cedar Crest drops to 3-3 overall, 0-3 in the CSAC. The Falcons will host Bridgewater College in non-league action on Saturday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m.
