CEDAR CREST LACROSSE FALLS IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION TO BRYN MAWR COLLEGE
Allentown, PA (April 9, 2009) – Bryn Mawr College used a big second half comeback to earn a 17-11 victory over Cedar Crest College in women’s lacrosse non-league action on Thursday afternoon.
Cedar Crest held a 9-8 lead at halftime, but Bryn Mawr came out on fire, scoring nine goals in the second half of play. The Falcons scored just two goals in the second period.
Freshman Tara Fikes and junior Jesenia Holguin led Cedar Crest with three goals each. Junior Kelly Oakes added two goals, while junior Amanda Dombroski added one goal and one assist. Junior Brittany Symbol scored once and junior Courtney Thomas scored her first goal of the season in the contest.
The Owls were led by Natalie Chrismer, who tallied four goals and three assists in the win.
Holguin and senior Thersia Ault each tallied four groundballs and two caused turnovers for Cedar Crest. Junior Devin Ursini posted 12 saves in the net for the Falcons.
Cedar Crest held a 21-19 advantage in groundballs, while Bryn Mawr held a 19-10 advantage in draw controls. The Owls out-shot the Falcons, 39-20 on the day.
Cedar Crest falls to 4-8 overall, while Bryn Mawr improves to 3-9 on the season. The Falcons will travel to Lancaster Bible College in non-league action on Wednesday, April 15th at 4:00 p.m.
