MORAVIAN LACROSSE EDGES CEDAR CREST IN NON-LEAGUE LACROSSE ACTION
Allentown, PA (April 23, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team dropped a 14-4 loss to cross-town opponent Moravian College in non-league action on Thursday afternoon.
Senior Thersia Ault was honored by her teammates and coaches in a pre-game ceremony for her last home game.
The first half was all Moravian as they scored eight unanswered goal, including three by Sarah Carmen.
Cedar Crest freshman Tara Fikes opened the scoring for the Falcons, tallying a goal at the 20:32 mark in the second half to make it a 8-1 contest. Junior Amanda Dombroski then added another goal for Cedar Crest three minutes later to cut the lead, 8-2.
Moravian would then answer with five goals before Ault took a pass from Dombroski with six minutes remaining to make it 13-3 in favor of the Greyhounds. Fikes added her second goal of the game with just under a minute remaining to put the score at, 14-4. Moravian scored once again with nine seconds remaining on the clock.
Oakes led Cedar Crest with a game-high six groundballs and two draw controls. Junior Devin Ursini tallied 14 saves in the net for the Falcons.
The Falcons fall to 5-10 overall with the loss. Cedar Crest will travel to Lancaster Bible College on Friday, April 24th at 4:00 p.m. for the final contest of the season.
