CAMPBELL AND HOLLAND RECEIVE ALL-COLONIAL STATES ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SOFTBALL HONORS

Aston, PA (April 29, 2009) – Senior center fielder Sarah Campbell (Plainfield, IL/Notre Dame) was named to the All-Colonial States Athlete Conference (CSAC) Softball First Team by a vote of the league’s head coaches released on Wednesday by the conference office.  Senior pitcher Allison Holland (Mercersburg, PA/James Buchanan) was named to the All-CSAC Second Team for the second-straight year.

Sophomore Danielle Freeman was also named to the All-CSAC Sportsmanship Team.

Campbell, who just ended her career on an 18-game hitting streak, led Cedar Crest with a .389 batting average.  She also led the team in hits, triples, homeruns, RBI, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage.  Campbell was just named to the CSAC Honor Roll of the Week for her outstanding performance in the week ending April 26th.  This marks Campbell’s first time that she has been named to the All-CSAC team.

Holland, a 2008 Second Team All-CSAC selection, has appeared on the mound in all 28 games this season.  She has struck out 206 batters and boasts a 3.79 ERA.  Holland only allowed 54 walks all season.  She led the CSAC in batters struck out and opposing team’s batting average.

Cedar Crest finished the season with an 11-19 overall record (8-14 CSAC).
