HOLLAND REPRESENTS CEDAR CREST AS LVAIAW OUTSTANDING ATHLETE

Bethlehem, PA (May 5, 2009) –Senior softball player Allison Holland (Mercersburg, PA/James Buchanan) represented Cedar Crest College as its outstanding athlete at the Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women annual luncheon on Tuesday afternoon at Starters Riverport.    

The LVAIAW consists of: Cedar Crest College, De Sales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Kutztown University, Moravian College, and Muhlenberg College.  These institutions joined together to promote women’s sports at each institution, as well as acknowledge outstanding female athletes among all these institutions.

Holland, a 2008 and 2009 Second Team All-CSAC selection, has appeared on the mound in all 30 games this season.  She has struck out 206 batters and boasts a 3.79 ERA.  Holland only allowed 56 walks all season.  She led the CSAC in batters struck out and opposing team’s batting average. 

Cedar Crest finished the season with an 11-19 overall record (8-14 CSAC).
