CEDAR CREST SOFTBALL FALLS TO LEAGUE-LEADER NEUMANN COLLEGE


Allentown, PA (March 27, 2009) – Senior pitcher Angela Sebasto threw a one-hitter in the opener to lead Neumann College to a 12-0 victory over Cedar Crest College in Colonial States Athletic Conference softball action on Friday afternoon.  Neumann also took the nightcap, 10-1.

Neumann scored one run in the top of the second inning and nine runs on six hits in the top of the third inning to put the game out of reach for the Falcons.  Senior Sarah Campbell had the lone hit for the Falcons in game one.

The Knights scored three runs in the first inning in the nightcap before scoring three more in the top of the fourth to make it a 6-0 contest.  Cedar Crest junior Rachel Orlen scored the only run for the Falcons in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it a 6-1 game. Neumann added four more runs over the next two innings.

Senior Allison Holland threw both games for Cedar Crest, striking out 10 batters on the day.  Holland also went 2-for-3 to lead the Falcons in game two.

Cedar Crest falls to 5-9 overall and 4-4 in the CSAC.  Neumann improves to 15-7 overall and 8-0 in the CSAC.
The Falcons will travel to the College of Notre Dame on Sunday, March 29th for a 1:00 p.m. CSAC contest.
