CEDAR CREST SOCCER DROPS 2-0 LOSS TO NEUMANN IN CSAC PLAY
Allentown, PA (October 20, 2009)- The Cedar Crest College soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Neumann University in Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman Nica Meccariello, who scored both tallies for Neumann, opened the scoring 17:12 into the start of the first half to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.
Meccariello then added the second goal at the 30-minute mark to make it a 2-0 contest.
Senior Heidi Paul made a game-high 12 saves in goal for the Falcons.
The Knights outshot Cedar Crest 26-3, while holding a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Falcons fall to 3-12-1 (1-7 CSAC) on the season, while Neumann improves to 7-8-1 (3-5 CSAC). Cedar Crest will host Valley Forge Christian College on Thursday, October 22nd for a 4:00 p.m. Colonial States Athletic Conference contest.
