KING LEADS CEDAR CREST SOCCER TO 1-0 WIN OVER VALLEY FORGE CHRISTIAN
Allentown, PA (October 22, 2009)- Junior Tabby King (New Bloomfield, PA/Susquenita) scored the game-winner as the Cedar Crest College soccer team handed Valley Forge Christian College a 1-0 loss on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play.
King nailed the game-winning goal off of a pass from junior Sam Smith (Sarasota, FL/Ponaganset) with just less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half of play. The goal marks King’s third of the season.
Senior Heidi Paul made five saves in goal for the Falcons, while Brittany Shrom stopped 10 shots on the day.
Cedar Crest held a 19-13 advantage in the shot column, while Valley Forge held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Falcons improve to 4-12-1 on the season, while Valley Forge Christian College falls to 3-11-1 overall. Cedar Crest will travel to Cabrini College on Saturday, October 24th for a 1:30 p.m. Colonial States Athletic Conference contest.
