BRYN MAWR COLLEGE HANDS CEDAR CREST LOSS IN SOCCER ACTION
Bryn Mawr, PA (September 5, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College soccer team fell, 6-0, to Bryn Mawr College in the Bryn Mawr College Tournament on Saturday afternoon in non-league action.
Bryn Mawr’s Laura Costanzo, who led the Owls with two goals and two assists, scored the game-winning goal at the 14:29 mark in the first half to give Bryn Mawr the 1-0 lead. The Owls would then score three unanswered goals in the first half of play to go up, 4-0 at the half. The Owls scored two more goals late in the second half of play.
Cedar Crest freshman goalie Danielle Mendez had a game-high 18 saves in the first time in the net for the Falcons.
The Falcons fall to 0-2 on the season, while Bryn Mawr improves to 2-0. Cedar Crest will play Sweet Briar in the Bryn Mawr College Tournament on Sunday, September 6 at 12:00 p.m.
Cedar Crest will return home against Wilson College on Thursday, September 17th at 4:00 p.m. in a non-league matchup.
