KING’S COLLEGE TOPS CEDAR CREST COLLEGE IN NON-LEAGUE SOCCER ACTION

Wilkes-Barre, PA (September 12, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College soccer team dropped a 6-0 loss to King’s College in non-league play on Saturday evening at McCarthy Stadium. 

Cedar Crest held King’s scoreless for the first 28-minutes of the contest before Becky Chateaneuf tallied an unassisted goal to put the Monarchs ahead, 1-0.  King’s would score two more goals before the end of the first half to make it a 3-0 contest. 

Sara Ciarlo opened the scoring for King’s seven minutes into the start of the second half to take a 4-0 lead.  The Monarchs would score two more unanswered tallies to make it 6-0 in favor of King’s.

King’s held a 19-1 advantage in shots, while also holding a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Cedar Crest senior goalie Heidi Paul posted a game-high five saves for the Falcons.

The Falcons fall to 0-5 on the season, while King’s improves to 2-3 overall. 

Cedar Crest will return home against Wilson College on Thursday, September 17th at 4:00 p.m. in a non-league matchup.
