CEDAR CREST SOCCER WINS DOUBLE-OVERTIME THRILLER OVER ST. ELIZABETH

Somerset, NJ (September 24, 2009) – Junior Jennie Huber (Lehighton, PA/Pleasant Valley HS) scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime to lead the Cedar Crest College soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play. 

St. Elizabeth got on the board late in the first half when Meghan Murray tallied a goal at the 41-minute mark to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. 

Cedar Crest freshman Daniella Mendez (Cedar Grove, NJ/Montclair Kimberley) tied the contest on an unassisted tally with just over two minutes remaining in the contest to force the game into overtime.

The Falcons controlled the contest, holding a 30-10 shot advantage and also a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. 

Senior Heidi Paul (Unionville, CT/Farmington) made four saves in the net for the Falcons, while Melinda Levendusky made 20 stops for St. Elizabeth. 

The Falcons improve to 2-6 overall on the season, while St. Elizabeth falls to 0-4 overall.
