CEDAR CREST TENNIS WINS FIFTH-STRAIGHT IN  VICTORY OVER ST. ELIZABETH

Morristown, NJ (September 19, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College tennis team won its fifth-straight contest in a 9-0 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Maria Mallery (Vestal, NY/Seton Catholic HS) and junior Alex Kuebler (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills HS) earned an 8-4 win in the No. 1 doubles position.  Mallery and Kuebler have won five-straight matches at the No. 1 doubles slot.

Senior Laura Shivley (Allenstown, NH/Pembroke Academy) and freshman Sarah Wicks (Bethel, PA/Hamburg Area HS) posted an 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles action, while senior Sara Messner (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita HS) and junior Amy Dichter (Woodbury, NJ/West Deptford HS) posted an 8-0 victory in No. 3 doubles play.   

Mallery took a victory at No. 1 singles, while Kuebler notched a win in No. 2 singles play.  Wicks won her sixth-straight match at No. 3 singles, while Shivley posted a win at No. 4 singles to win her fifth-straight match.  Messner also won her fifth-straight with a win at the No. 5 spot.  Dichter posted a victory at No. 6 singles.

The Falcons improve to 6-2 (3-0 CSAC) on the season.  Cedar Crest will travel to Keystone College on Monday, September 21st for a 3:30 p.m. CSAC match.
