CEDAR CREST TENNIS WINS TENTH MATCH OF THE SEASON IN WIN OVER ROSEMONT

Rosemont, PA (September 30, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College tennis team posted its tenth win this season with a 6-3 victory over Rosemont College on Wednesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference.    

Senior Maria Mallery (Vestal, NY/Seton Catholic HS) and junior Alex Kuebler (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills HS) fell, 8-4, in the No. 1 doubles position. 

Senior Laura Shively (Allenstown, NH/Pembroke Academy) and freshman Sarah Wicks (Bethel, PA/Hamburg Area HS), won, 8-2, in No. 2 doubles action, while senior Sara Messner (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita HS) and junior Amy Dichter (Woodbury, NJ/West Deptford HS) posted an 8-5 victory in No. 3 doubles play.   

Wicks notched a win in No. 3 singles play.  Wicks won her team-high tenth-straight match of the season.  Shively, Messner, and Dichter all posted wins at the No. 4, 5, and 6 spots, respectively.

The Falcons improve to 10-3 (6-1 CSAC) on the season.  Cedar Crest will travel to Cabrini College on Saturday, October 3rd for a 12:00 p.m. contest.
