CEDAR CREST VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS VALLEY FORGE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE IN THREE GAMES

Phoenixville, PA (September 3, 2009) – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team swept Valley Forge Christian College, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in non-league action.

Cedar Crest defeated the Patriots by scores of 25-12, 25-11, and 25-8.

Senior Kelly Oakes (Wilmington, DE/Delcastle Tech HS) led the Falcons with seven kills, a team-high four aces, and four digs.  Junior Lauren Seale (Wilmington, DE/Wilmington Christian HS) added a team-high 23 assists, two aces, and five digs. 

Senior Amanda Dombroski (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain HS) added a team-high eight kills and four digs in the win for the Falcons.  Freshman Kim Katsigianis Amherst, NH/Souhegan HS) added seven kills in just her second collegiate showing.

Cedar Crest improves to 1-1 overall on the season, while VFCC falls to 0-3 overall.

The Falcons will host the College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. in non-league play.
