CEDAR CREST CROSS COUNTRY EARNS AN IMPRESSIVE FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT IMMACULATA


Immaculata, PA (September 12, 2009)
– The Cedar Crest College cross country team earned an impressive fourth place finish out of 12 teams at the Immaculata Invitational on Saturday morning.

Ursinius College finished in first place with 42 points, while Marywood University took second with 49 team points.  Gwynedd-Mercy College finished just ahead of Cedar Crest with 100 points.  Cedar Crest finished in fourth place overall and in third place out of the Colonial States Athletic Conference teams that were participating in the invitational with a total of 157 points. 

Cabrini College took fifth place with 182 points, while Philadelphia Biblical University finished sixth just one point shy of Cabrini.  Holy Family, Baptist Bible, Neumann, Keystone, Immaculata, and Centenary rounded out the field.

Junior Katie Hartman (New Ringgold, PA/Tamaqua) led the Falcons with an 8th place finish overall in a time of 21:36. Junior Kristen Geisinger (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg HS) took a 27th place finish overall in a time of 23:07, while sophomore Jenna Beidelman (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) was right behind Geisinger in 28th place overall in a time of 23:08.

Immaculata’s cross country course will be the site of the 2009 CSAC Fall Championships.

Cedar Crest will host the Falcon Classic on Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of Cedar Crest College.
