CEDAR CREST CROSS COUNTRY WINS ANNUAL FALCON CLASSIC

Allentown, PA (September 19, 2009) – Junior Katie Hartman (New Ringgold, PA/Tamaqua) led the Cedar Crest College Cross Country team to a first place finish at the annual Falcon Classic held on the campus of Cedar Crest on Saturday morning.    

Hartman, who has finished first for the Falcons in all four meets this season, finished in first place overall out of 65 runners in a time of 21:15.  Sophomore Jenna Beidleman (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) and junior Kristen Geisinger (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg HS) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively, in times of 22:27 and 22:28. 

Junior Tasha Jones (Kane, PA/Kane) notched a 10th place finish in a time of 23:09, while senior Michelle Snead (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh HS) took a 13th place finish in a time of 24:09.

Cedar Crest won the meet with a total of 33 points, while Eastern University finished in second place with 67 team points.  Glouster County College took third place with 74 points and Immaculata earned the fourth place spot with 98 total points.  Penn State Berks and Centenary College finished in fifth and sixth place overall. 

Cedar Crest will travel to the Belmont Classic hosted by Cabrini College on Saturday, September 26th at 12:15 p.m.
