CEDAR CREST CROSS COUNTRY TAKES 12th PLACE AT BELMONT CLASSIC

Philadelphia, PA (September 26, 2009) – Junior Katie Hartman (New Ringgold, PA/Tamaqua) led the Cedar Crest College Cross Country team to a 12th place finish out of 21 teams at the annual Belmont Classic held at Fairmount Park, hosted by Cabrini College.      

Hartman, who has finished first for the Falcons in all five meets this season, finished in seventh place overall out of 177 runners in a personal best time of 20:51.  Junior Kristen Geisinger (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg HS) finished in 69th place overall in a time of 23:18. 

Philadephia University took first place overall, while Georgian Court finished in second.  Ursinus, Philadelphia Sciences, and Nyack took third, fourth, and fifth, while Felician, Delaware Valley, and Cabrini went sixth, seventh, and eighth.  Lincoln took ninth place overall, while Dominican and Holy Family went 10th and 11th place.  Cedar Crest finished in 12th place above nine other teams. 

Cedar Crest will travel to the Goldy-Beacom Classic held on the campus of Goldy-Beacom College on Saturday, October 3rd for a 10:30 a.m. race time.
