WILKES UNIVERSITY TOPS CEDAR CREST IN LACROSSE ACTION

Allentown, PA (April 15, 2010) –The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team dropped a close game to the Wilkes University Colonels, 13-16, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon.

Cedar Crest started the game off with three quick goals to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead in the first four minutes of action.  Wilkes answered with their first of nine first half goals at the 19:46 mark.  Cedar Crest and Wilkes traded goals over the rest of the first half.  Cedar Crest trailed, 9-7, at the half.

Wilkes and Cedar Crest traded goals over the first 20 minutes in the second half, before Wilkes tallied the last two goals in the final two minutes of play to secure the victory.

Cedar Crest was led by freshman Candace Boardwine, who tallied two goals and two assists.  Senior Amanda Dombroski added two goals and one assist in the loss, while senior Jesenia Holguin, junior Maureen Manning, and sophomore Tara Fikes each added two goals for the Falcons.

Wilkes sophomore Stephanie Harkins led the Colonels with five goals, while senior Lindsay Davenport tallied four goals and junior Amelia Farnham added three goals. 

The Falcons fall to 4-6 overall, while Wilkes improves to 1-7 overall.

Cedar Crest will travel to Immaculata University on Saturday, April 17th for an 11:00 a.m. Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.
