DOMBROSKI AND THOMAS NAMED TO COLONIAL STATES ATHLETIC ALL-CONFERENCE WOMEN’S LACROSSE TEAM


Aston, PA (April 30, 2009) – Senior midfielder Amanda Dombroski (Orwigsburg, PA/ Blue Mountain) was named to the All-Colonial States Athlete Conference Women’s Lacrosse Second Team and senior Courtney Thomas (Owings, MD/Queen Anne HS) was named to the Honorable Mention Team by a vote of the league’s head coaches released on Friday by the conference office. 

In addition to the two All-Conference selections, junior Kara Malysza (West Seneca, NY/W.S. East HS) was named to the All-CSAC Sportsmanship Team. 

Dombroski, a previous All-CSAC Second Team selection in 2009, led Cedar Crest in goals, points, shots, game-winning goals, free position goals, and draw controls.  She tallied at least one point in each game for the Falcons this season.  She finished her outstanding season ranked 11th in the nation and first in the CSAC, averaging 5.21 draw controls per game.

Dombroski posted her best game of the season in a 20-3 victory over Trinity College on March 17th.  She tallied a game-high five goals and three assists to lead Cedar Crest in the win.

Thomas, a defender who makes her first appearance on the All-CSAC Honorable Mention Team, currently ranks 17th in the nation and third in the CSAC, averaging 4.83 groundballs per game.  She tallied a career-high 10 groundballs against Marywood University this season.  She also added 19 caused turnovers on the year.

Cedar Crest finished the season at 5-9 overall (1-6 CSAC).
