CEDAR CREST TOPS PENN STATE ABINGTON IN LAX ACTION


Abington, PA (March 23, 2010) – The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team posted a 17-10 win over Penn State Abington on Tuesday afternoon at Huntingdon Field in non-conference play.

Cedar Crest jumped out to the early 3-0 lead and would never trail again in the contest. 

Senior Amanda Dombroski posted four goals on the day, while senior Kelly Oakes tallied two goals, two assists and a team-high 10 groundballs.  Senior Brit Symbol and junior Maureen Manning each added two goals and two assists in the victory for the Falcons.  Senior Jesenia Holguin added three goals and eight groundballs, while fellow senior Courtney Thomas posted two assists and seven groundballs.

Sophomore Emily Seifert and freshmen Sara Walsh, Leia Epstein, and Rachel Rush each added a goal for Cedar Crest. 

Senior Devin Ursini made seven four for the Falcons and Penn State’s Danielle Fontaine posted six saves for the Nittany Lions. 

Cedar Crest improves to 2-2 overall on the season, while PSU Abington falls to 1-1 overall.

The Falcons will travel to Bryn Mawr College on Thursday, March 25th at 4:00 p.m. in non-league action.
