DOMBROSKI LEADS CEDAR CREST LACROSSE OVER THE COLLEGE OF ST. ELIZABETH IN NON-LEAGUE PLAY
Allentown, PA (April 7, 2010) – Senior Amanda Dombroski tallied four goals and two assists to lead the Cedar Crest College lacrosse team to a 16-1 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth on Wednesday afternoon in non-league play.
Cedar Crest came out strong, scoring four unanswered goals over the first 10 minutes of the contest. The Falcons then tacked on seven more goals before the end of the first half of play to take an 11-0 lead at halftime. Dombroski’s four goals and two assists all came in the first half.
Freshman Jess Millar then scored the first goal of her collegiate career to open the scoring for Cedar Crest in the second half to make it a 12-0 contest. The Falcons would add two more goals before St. Elizabeth’s Meghan Murray put the Eagles on the board with just over eight minutes remaining in the contest. Senior Britt Symbol took a pass from junior Kara Malysza with just over a minute in the contest to put the score , 16-1, in favor of Cedar Crest.
Symbol and freshman Candace Boardwine each tallied two goals and two assists on the day, while sophomore Emily Seifert added one goal and two assists. Sophomore Tara Fikes added two goals in the win, while Millar, freshman Leia Epstein, senior Dah-ve Bell, and freshman Rachel Rush each added one goal.
Senior Kelly Oakes notched a game-high six draw controls on the day, while Dombroski also added five groundballs.
The Falcons improve to 4-4 overall, while St. Elizabeth falls to 0-8 on the season.
Cedar Crest will take on Centenary College at home in league action on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
