CEDAR CREST SOFTBALL FALLS TWICE TO CENTENARY COLLEGE IN CSAC MATCHUP


Allentown, PA (April 23, 2010) – The Centenary College softball team earned two wins over Cedar Crest College in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Friday afternoon.

Centenary’s Kristin Durborrow threw a no-hitter in game one to lead the Cyclones to a 13-0 victory over Cedar Crest.  Caitlin Veverka led the Cyclones at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. 

Cedar Crest sophomore Natalia Dial took the loss for the Falcons in game one, allowing eight earned runs and nine hits.

Durborrow earned the win for Centenary in game two, striking out seven batters and allowing just one earned run.  Cara Montferrat led the Cylones at the plate in game two, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Cedar Crest junior Tammy Gruzdis went 2-for-4, including a triple, and scored Cedar Crest’s lone run in the nightcap to lead the Falcons.  Freshman Samantha Kitts threw the complete game for Cedar Crest, allowing three earned runs and seven hits.

The Falcons are currently 8-20 overall (3-13 CSAC) and are set to host Baptist Bible College on Saturday, April 24th for a 1:00 p.m. Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.   Centenary improves to 22-10 overall (12-4 CSAC) on the season.
