CEDAR CREST SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH BAPTIST BIBLE IN CSAC PLAY

Allentown, PA (April 24, 2010) – The Cedar Crest College softball team split with Baptist Bible College in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Cedar Crest dropped the opener, 5-0, but came back to win the nightcap, 15-10.

Cedar Crest sophomore Natalia Dial took the loss for the Falcons in game one, allowing two earned runs and striking out five batters.  Junior Amy Stumpff had th lone hit for Cedar Crest in game one.

Junior Michelle Palmisano led Cedar Crest at the plate in game two, going 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.  Freshman Daniella Mendez added three hits for the Falcons, while junior Tammy Gruzdis, senior Alyssa Bonner, and Stumpff each posted two hits for Cedar Crest.  Dial earned the win for Cedar Crest in game two.

The Falcons are currently 9-21 overall (4-14 CSAC) and are set to host the University of Scranton on Wednesday, April 28th for a 3:00 p.m. Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.
