GRUZDIS NAMED CEDAR CREST FALCON OF THE WEEK

Allentown, PA (April 5, 2010) – Junior softball player Tammy Gruzdis was named the Cedar Crest Falcon of the Week for her outstanding play in the week ending April 4th.

In six games, Gruzdis batted .455 in 22 at bats.  She posted 10 hits, nine scored runs, six RBI, and one double.  In the field, she committed just one error in six starts. 

Gruzdis, who has started all 16 contests for the Falcons, currently leads Cedar Crest in hits, runs scored, and at bats.  She is boasting a .400 batting average on the season.

For the week, Cedar Crest went 4-2 with wins over the College of Notre Dame, Penn State Abington, and back-to-back wins over the College of St. Elizabeth.  

The Falcons are currently 6-10 overall and are set to travel to Immaculata University on Tuesday, April 6th for a 3:00 p.m. start in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
