GRUZDIS NAMED CEDAR CREST FALCON OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

Allentown, PA (April 19, 2010) – Junior softball player Tammy Gruzdis (Allentown, PA/Liberty) was named the Cedar Crest Falcon of the Week for her outstanding play in the week ending April 19th.

In four games, Gruzdis batted .818 in 11 at bats.  She posted nine hits, including two doubles and a triple.  She also added eight scored runs and two RBI.  In the field, she committed just one error in four starts. 

Gruzdis, who has started all 24 contests for the Falcons, currently leads Cedar Crest in hits, runs scored, at bats, triples, and slugging percentage.  She is boasting a .446 batting average on the season.

For the week, Cedar Crest went 2-2 with two wins over Rosemont College and two losses coming from Philadelphia Biblical.  

The Falcons are currently 8-16 overall and are set to travel to Marywood University on Wednesday, April 21st for a 3:00 p.m. start in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
