CINDY JOSEPH NAMED HEAD COACH OF FIELD HOCKEY AND WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Cindy Joseph, former head coach at Arcadia University, was named Thursday as Cedar Crest College’s head field hockey and women’s lacrosse coach in an announcement from Cedar Crest Director of Athletics Kristin Maile.
Allentown, PA (August 12, 2010) - Cedar Crest College Director of Athletics Kristin Maile announced Thursday that Cindy Joseph, former head field hockey and women's lacrosse coach at Arcadia University, has been named to the same position at Cedar Crest.
“Cindy brings a great balance of both field hockey and lacrosse experience to Cedar Crest," said Maile. "She is a proven recruiter and we're confident that she is going to bring in highly successful student-athletes to both programs. She will be an outstanding role model for our student-athletes and we're excited to have her leading our field hockey and lacrosse teams."
This fall, Joseph will take the reins of a steadily-improving Cedar Crest field hockey program that went 5-12 last year. In the spring, she will be on the sidelines for the lacrosse team, which is coming off a 5-9 season.
Joseph spent the last eight seasons as the head coach of women's lacrosse at Arcadia University, where she also served for a time as the interim head field hockey coach. She has extensive high school and prep school field hockey coaching experience, holding positions at Nazareth Academy, Caravel Academy, and Brandywine, Concord, and John Dickinson high schools. She has also been active in STX field hockey and lacrosse camps and has served on the US Lacrosse National Team Selection Committee.
Joseph earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from Arcadia. While at Arcadia, she was a two-sport student-athlete in both field hockey and lacrosse, helping to lead the lacrosse team to back-to-back Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championships in 1995 and 1996.####
