CEDAR CREST SENDS BAY PATH PACKING FOR SECOND WIN IN A ROW

Allentown, PA (November 21, 2010) - Junior Lizzy Sunderhaus (Hamilton, OH/Stephen T. Badin) had a huge game and five Falcons scored in double figures to lead Cedar Crest to a 77-32 victory over visiting Bay Path College.

Sunderhaus scored 16 points and pulled down 17 boards for her second consecutive double-double, while senior Leann Wallower (Havertown, PA/Haverford) led all scorers with 22 points.

The game was out of reach relatively early as Cedar Crest raced out to a 12-0 lead and kept the Wildcats off the board for almost seven minutes until Bay Path scored their first point on a free throw at the 13:24 mark. In contrast to Bay Path's slower and methodical offensive style, the Falcons played a noticeably more up-tempo pace that seemed to rattle the Wildcats. Cedar Crest scored at will and dominated both ends of the floor, with 5'2" sophomore Megan DeMutis (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) grabbing six rebounds in the first half alone, second only to Sunderhaus. The Falcons stretched their lead to 26 at the half, entering the locker room up 41-15.

The second half was more of the same, with Bay Path getting no closer en route to the 77-32 final. Falcon senior Kelley Cipriani (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) had a near double-double with nine boards and 12 points, and fellow senior Lauren Seale (Wilmington, DE/Wilmington Christian) had 11 rebounds and six points. For the Wildcats, Justine Hook had a strong showing with 12 boards and 11 points.

The Falcons are now 2-1, while Bay Path drops to 0-3. The Falcons' only remaining game before the holiday break will be a trip to Reading for a meeting with Penn State Berks on Tuesday, November 23rd, at 7:00 p.m.
