FALCONS GIANT-KILLERS IN 9-0 CSAC WIN
Allentown, PA (September 29, 2010) - Cedar Crest's tennis team continued to roll through conference matches today with a 9-0 victory over the Giants of Keystone College. It was Cedar Crest's second consecutive conference win and second consecutive shutout.
After opening a 3-0 lead following the doubles matches, Cedar Crest sophomore Sarah Wicks (Bethel, PA/Hamburg Area) struggled somewhat but ultimately prevailed over Keystone's Shiloh Richner by scores of 6-4, 5-7, and finally 12-10. That was the only close set however, as the Falcons ran the table at the remaining positions.
Senior Amy Dichter's (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) streak of victories at both No. 3 singles and at No. 2 doubles now stands at seven, five with partner senior Alex Kuebler (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills). Sophomores Cassandra Bejar (Allentown, PA/Wm. Allen) and Nina Colangeli (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg North) have also now won five straight at No. 3 doubles.
Cedar Crest evens their record at 4-4 and improves their CSAC record to 3-2. Keystone drops to 1-7 and 1-6 in the conference.
Next up for the Falcons will be a road trip to Clarks Summit for a meeting with CSAC foe Baptist Bible on Saturday, October 2nd. Match time is 1:00 p.m.
