TENNIS QUALIFIES FOR PLAYOFFS, DICHTER NAMED TO CSAC HONOR ROLL AGAIN

Allentown, PA (October 18, 2010) - On the heels of their qualification for the Colonial States Athletic Conference's Women's Tennis Team Championship, Cedar Crest's Amy Dichter of West Deptford, NJ, was named to the CSAC's honor roll for women's tennis for the second time this season.

For the week ending October 17th, the senior went 3-1 in her matches. She split her singles and doubles matches at Marywood University and swept her matches at home against College of Notre Dame, a win that helped propel the team into the four-team CSAC Championship next weekend.

Dichter is a four-year player on the team and was named Most Improved Player twice. She has been named to the CSAC All-Academic Team multiple times, and is majoring in nursing.

The Cedar Crest tennis team finished the regular season at 7-6 overall and 6-4 in the CSAC. They will participate in the Championship as the number four seed and will play the number one-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy College. The final playoff berth was awarded to Cedar Crest by virtue of winning a tie-breaker with Baptist Bible, whom the Falcons defeated 5-4 in early October. This is the fourth time in the past five years that Cedar Crest has qualified for postseason play.

The Championship will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 22nd and 23rd, at West End Racquet Club in Allentown. Details are available on the CSAC website (http://www.csacsports.com).
