ALVERNIA CRUSADERS DEFEAT FALCONS 3-0
Allentown, PA (September 11, 2010) - The Cedar Crest College volleyball team lost to Alvernia 3-0 in the opener of a home tri-match today.
Cedar Crest again got off to a slow start, losing the first set 25-14. They seemed to pick up the intensity as the match wore on, but ultimately lost by the close scores of 25-22 and 25-21.
Freshman Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley) again led the team in kills with seven, and senior Lauren Seale (Wilmington, DE/Wilmington Christian) had 17 assists and 10 digs. Junior Katey Dauble (Allentown, PA/Wm Allen) led the team in digs with 17. Freshman Kamala Meena Sutton (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) had 13.
Cedar Crest drops to 0-4 overall on the season, while Alvernia improves to 2-5.
The Falcons will play a 2:00 p.m. match against Penn State Berks as part of the same event on Saturday, September 11.
