CEDAR CREST VOLLEYBALL GETS BACK ON TRACK WITH WIN OVER VALLEY FORGE
Allentown, PA (September 30, 2010) - A young Falcon volleyball team struggling to find their footing as of late got a much needed boost with a 3-0 non-conference win over Valley Forge Christian College at home tonight. In the process, senior playmaker Lauren Seale (Wilmington, DE/Wilmington Christian) broke the school record of 1758 career assists, set in 2006 by Helen Luu. Seale now stands at 1763 with 12 matches still to go this season.
The set scores were 25-12, 25-18 and 25-12, with Seale's record-setter coming off the first point of the third set. She finished with 20 assists and four kills on the night. Freshman Kamala Meena Sutton (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) led the team in kills with with seven. Fellow frosh Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley) had five. Wehry and senior Danielle Niles (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) led in digs with five each. Wehry and junior Katey Dauble (Allentown, PA/Wm Allen) each had three aces.
Cedar Crest improves to 2-9 on the season and remains 1-3 in the CSAC. Valley Forge drops to 2-16.
Cedar Crest resumes conference action on Saturday, October 2nd, with a road trip to Centenary. Match time is 12:00 p.m.
