CEDAR CREST CROSS COUNTRY TEAM FINISHES 9TH AT LEHIGH INVITATIONAL
Bethlehem, PA (September 3, 2010) - It was not an auspicious start to the season for the Cedar Crest College cross country team today at the Lehigh Invitational at Lehigh University.
Thanks to a traffic accident on the road ahead, the team's 20-minute trip to their neighboring university took nearly two hours. The team finally pulled up at 5:28 for a 5:30 race, although the host were kind enough to delay the start for 15 minutes. Considering the lack of warmup time and competing against the likes of NCAA Division I teams like Lehigh, Lafayette, and Navy, the Falcons were happy just to get a meet under their belt to kick off the season.
Sophomore Tori Kuebler (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) finished first for Cedar Crest on the 6K course in 31:08. Freshman Tammy Touhsaent (Mertztown, PA/Kutztown) finished in 37:02 in her first collegiate action.
The Falcons will next travel to Lancaster for the Lebanon Valley Invitational on Saturday, September 11, at 10:15 a.m.
