Cedar Crest Athletes of the Week – 2010-2011

Week Ending October 17th
Maggie Mullin, Soccer

Last week, freshman Maggie Mullin of Caldwell, NJ, scored twice in the waning minutes of regulation in a thrilling game against Notre Dame. The first tied the game at 1-1 and the second, with just 2:05 to go, tied it again at 2-2 and forced the game into double-overtime.

Week Ending October 10th
Cassie Bejar and Nina Colangeli, Tennis

Last week in a match at Neumann, sophomore doubles partners Cassie Bejar of  Allentown, PA, and Nina Colangeli of Bushkill, PA, suffered a loss at the No. 3 doubles position. Both players rallied, however, each going on to win their singles matches over the very same two Neumann players to whom they lost in the doubles. Their two wins were key in Cedar Crest's 5-4 victory over Neumann, a match which kept the team's playoff hopes alive.


Week Ending October 3rd
Lauren Seale, Volleyball

In a win against Valley Forge last week, senior Lauren Seale of Wilmington, DE, broke the school record of 1758 career assists, set in 2006 by Helen Luu. Seale now stands at 1771 with 11 matches still to go this season.

Week Ending September 26th
Amy Dichter, Tennis

With a 9-0 victory over Immaculata last week, senior Amy Dichter of West Deptford, NJ, extended her streak of victories to six at both No. 3 singles and at No. 2 doubles with help from partners senior Alex Kuebler and grad Mackenzie Lee.

Week Ending September 19th
Catherine Onjack, Field Hockey

In a thriller on Saturday against Wells, it took two regulation halves, two overtime periods, and a penalty stroke-off before sophomore Catherine "OJ" Onjack of Bangor, PA, was the hero of the day for finally converting the tenth stroke, giving Cedar Crest the 1-0 win.

Week Ending September 12th
Tori Kuebler, Cross Coutry

At Lebanon Valley on Saturday, sophomore Tori Kuebler of Glassboro, NJ, finished first for Cedar Crest in a time of 24:44, including a sub-7:00 first mile.

Week Ending September 5th
Lauren Salge, Field Hockey

On Saturday, sophomore Lauren Salge of Robbinsville, NJ, played a great game against Goucher, then netted the gamewinner  in overtime the following day against Hood.
