6:45-7:45 p.m. Hypnotist Tom DeLuca: Alumnae Theatre
Voted Entertainer of the Year for 4 years by colleges across the country, Tom DeLuca opens the windows to the imagination by combining the power of suggestion with his volunteers' innate creativity. The Tom DeLuca Show is often imitated but never replicated-- all hypnosis shows are not the same. Tom is one of the most sought after performers in the college market. Bring your family and be prepared to laugh and be astounded. Tom is simply the best in the country.
 
8 p.m. Performing Arts Department Production: "In Our Sights: Confronting the issue of guns in America": Samuels Theatre, Tompkins College Center
A collection of 12 one-act plays based around one important subject: gun control. Some are calls to action, some are calls to question, some are calls for prayer, but all are an important conversation that has too long been ignored. Directed by Cedar Crest Professor Tim Brown.
Please note this production is appropriate for those over the age of fifteen (15).

9:30 a.m. 5K Family Fun Run: Field Hockey Field
Start your weekend with a family run. Enjoy some friendly competition on the Cedar Crest Track. Registration includes a T-shirt and prizes will be awarded for the best times.

Parents, are you wondering how Cedar Crest can help your student select a major? Do you have a senior who will graduate in May? What about internships? Come meet the Director of Career Development, Jenelle Henry, and find out how this resource can be utilized all four years to develop a robust plan for success. Enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry in the Allen House.
 
*9-10 a.m. Multicultural Center Coffee Hour: Multicultural Center, Butz Hall Level 1
Feel free to join members of the diverse campus community for light refreshments and discussion around diversity and social justice topics
 
*9:30 a.m. -3 p.m. Digging for Buried Treasure: Front of Cressman Library
Check out the giant sandbox and dig for prizes in the sand. You will get one minute to find an envelope containing your prize category. Turn it in for Cedar Crest gear, gift cards and more. Once all the treasure is uncovered enjoying building a sand castle with your family.
  
*10 a.m. Arboretum Tours: Depart from Blaney Hall Steps
Cedar Crest is home to the William F. Curtis Arboretum. Join Kelly Austin, Arboretum Curator, for an informative and fun tour of the gardens and hear about this national registered arboretum which includes sculptures and over one hundred trees native to the Lehigh Valley.

*10-11 a.m. The Internet: Your Second Resume: TCC 1867 Room
Join Samantha Buker, Cedar Crest's Digital Marketing Strategist, to learn about how to use social media in a responsible manner. Learn how your digital footprint can have a long term impact on your future. This timely topic is open to students and families.
 
11:00 a.m. -1 p.m. Bingo Brunch on the Boardwalk: TCC Dining Hall
Join campus "celebrity callers" for this annual tradition. Bingo and a delicious boardwalk brunch are on the menu for this family event! Enjoy the foods you love all summer. Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. You must purchase tickets in advance. View full menu

Join President Ambar and Provost Meade to celebrate those sophomores, juniors or seniors who made Dean's List in spring 2013. Pose for a family photo with President Ambar at her home and celebrate your academic success. This event is by invitation only.

*1-2:30 p.m. Chocolate and Coffee: Stimulating Our World: Oberkotter 1
Have you ever wondered about the history of how chocolate and coffee became domesticated and traveled the world? We’ll explore the movement of chocolate from Central and South America to its current worldwide distribution and how a goat herder in Ethiopia discovered coffee after watching his goats dance. Beyond the candy store, chocolate has been used as a medium in art and in make-up. We will learn about all of this and more in a 45 minute presentation and then sample a few stimulating treats.

*1-3:30 p.m. Fall Festival 2013: The Quad
Come check out the "Boardwalk" activities sponsored by the three largest programming groups on campus: Write on Rice jewelry, dig for buried treasure in the sand pit, and various inflatables such as a 22' slide and hoops. Enjoy all of the novelties you find at the beach. Fun for ALL ages. Sponsored by Student Government Association, Commuter Advisory Board and the Student Activities Board.

Legacy students and their family members are invited to a special reception hosted by the Advancement Office.  We look forward to celebrating you and your current family member now attending Cedar Crest. Refreshments will be served. This event is by invitation only.

We asked our students to write about a parent and why they should be named parent of the year. Come hear which parents, from each class, were selected and celebrate why your support means so much to your student. All families will receive the student submission to enjoy.

Have your family portrait taken to remember the weekend. Limit two per family.
 
4 p.m. Illusionist Craig Karges: Alumnae Hall Theater
One of most loved campus entertainers in the country. You won't want to miss Craig Karges. Spoons will bend, tables will float and you will be amazed. His credits include: over 40 national television appearances including The Tonight Show, Larry King Live, E! Entertainment Television, CNN Headline News, Fox News Channel, CNBC, Lifetime Television, he has been a 6 time winner of the National Association of Campus Activities Entertainer of the year and Variety Entertainment of the year a record 12 times. Campus Activities Magazine has awarded him the Readers' Choice Awards 15 times. He is a member of the National Campus Entertainment Hall of Fame. Craig was named Mentalist of the Year by the International Psychic Entertainers Association (seriously!) This show is appropriate for all ages.

4 p.m. Annual Golf Tournament: Villas Crossing Golf Course, 521 Golf Road, Tamaqua, PA
The Cedar Crest College Athletic Department invites you to show your FALCON pride by taking part in this year’s Falcon Golf Tournament. Registration is only $275 per foursome and only $75 per single. Register on the Athletics website.

Now taking the college market by storm, Gary Johnson has received rave reviews on his highly entertaining, fully-interactive stage show which promotes overwhelming crowd-participation and showcases his seemingly endless repertoire, which is constantly put to the test as all shows are done 100% by Text Request.
