Carmen Twillie Ambar
Cedar Crest College

This fall Cedar Crest celebrated a special day in the College’s history: the Inauguration of its 13th president, Carmen Twillie Ambar. The Cedar Crest community enjoyed three days of academic, social and ceremonial events culminating in the Installation Ceremony on Friday, October 23, 2009.

Ever since the College welcomed its first class of students more than 140 years ago, Cedar Crest College has dedicated itself to educating women leaders. In selecting Carmen Twillie Ambar, J.D., as the new president for the College, the Trustees continued this tradition of women’s leadership. President Ambar came to Cedar Crest after serving as Dean of Douglass College at Rutgers where she was the ninth woman and the youngest dean appointed in its history.(more)
