Summer Orientation

What kind of orientation is available for transfer students?
Recognizing that transfer students come to Cedar Crest with significant college experience, and may have already attended an orientation program for first year students, we strive to offer programs and information just for you.

Summer Orientation
Because the summer orientation program that is planned for first year students is a comprehensive and fun introduction to Cedar Crest, a few transfer students ask to participate each year. Truth be told, we would be thrilled if all transfer students participated! Therefore, while transfer students are not required to attend the summer orientation program you are welcome and invited to join us in June. Our Fall Orientation program contains programs and activities for both first year and transfer students

I'm interested in attending Summer Orientation. When is it?
Friday, June 22 - Saturday, June 23, 2012. Summer Orientation check in will be from 8-9 am on June 22, 2012 at Steinbright Hall. Check out will be on Saturday, June 23, 2012 by 1:30 pm. A schedule of events is coming soon.

How do I RSVP for Summer Orientation?
If you wish to attend Summer Orientation, log onto MyCedarCrest and click on the "Student Affairs" tab to RSVP. The due date to register is Wednesday, June 13, 2012.

When is Fall Orientation and what is available for transfer students?
During Fall Orientation there will be programs and activities for transfer students as well as first year students. Thursday, August 23- Sunday, August 26, 2012.

Fall Orientation consists of a series of activities designed to help you continue to transition to college life and acclimate both academically and socially into your new environment. You will attend a variety of informative sessions that will provide you with key information about academics, resources, and special opportunities available to you throughout the College. These educational sessions will be complemented by a series of fun social events that will provide you with a chance to make friends. Orientation leaders will be available throughout Fall Orientation to answer your questions and make sure that you find your way to all of the activities that are planned. Creating a Fall Course Schedule

After you enroll at Cedar Crest College as a transfer student by virtue of submitting your enrollment deposit, you will receive the name of your academic advisor in the mail. Students typically receive their advisor information within one week. As soon as you receive this information, you may contact your advisor to develop a course schedule.
