AV/MEDIA CONSULTANT

Consultants are responsible for the support and maintenance of technology in classrooms across campus and within the Audio Visual Listening area. Duties include weekly preventative maintenance checks on classroom equipment, troubleshooting technology in the classroom, setup and retrieval of A/V equipment across campus, answering phones, scheduling equipment, installing software, inventory tracking, and other duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities consist of checking in/out of media, and basic Library Media duties.

Requirements: requires some basic familiarity with computers and campus network, sense of responsibility, desire to work with people, good communications skills, and motivation to progress.

ED TECH CONSULTANT

Consultants assist the full-time Ed Tech staff provide technical and usage support to faculty in the use of instructional technology. Duties include creating/converting digital content for web sites and/or faculty, assisting with online course development, and small scale project management.

Requirements: Good communication skills are very important, including writing skills and the ability to verbally communicate ideas effectively. Consultants must be comfortable with technology, including Windows and/or Mac, MS Office products, and eCollege. Candidates must show self-motivation, ability to learn new applications quickly, and demonstrate ability to work independently on projects. Experience in video/audio software a plus.

NOTE: This position is project-based. Unlike the other positions, Ed Tech Consultant hours vary throughout the semester based on project availability.

HELPDESK CONSULTANT

Consultants utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide quality customer support via phone, email, and walk‐ins in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to work with and impart knowledge to novice to advanced customers. Consultants are expected to continually expand their knowledge of networking, email, hardware, software applications and operating systems.

Requirements: requires some basic familiarity with computers and campus network, sense of responsibility, demonstrated proficiency of network applications and an interest in helping users resolve their computing problems. The student must have the people skills required to answer phones, and the ability to troubleshoot computer issues after the initial training. Candidates must have the ability to represent Information Technology with professionalism and to work with limited supervision.

LAB CONSULTANT

Consultants maintain the computer labs, assisting students with software and hardware questions that may arise. Consultants are responsible for printer supplies, keeping the facilities tidy, and troubleshooting basic hardware and software problems. Consultants are expected to familiarize themselves with the software packages and the policies and procedures of the computer labs.

Requirements: requires some basic familiarity with computers and campus network, sense of responsibility, desire to work with people, good communications skills, and motivation to progress. Candidates must have the ability to represent Information Technology with professionalism, and to work with limited supervision.

TECH CONSULTANT

Consultants are responsible for assisting the hardware technician in troubleshooting hardware and software problems, maintaining repairs on computer facility equipment including audio/visual equipment, setting up new systems for users, tracking equipment and assisting with inventories, and keeping record of service and maintenance calls. Duties also include preventative maintenance checks in campus computer labs and other student use workstations.

Requirements: requires some basic familiarity with computers and campus network, sense of responsibility, desire to work with people, good communications skills, and motivation to progress. Candidates must demonstrate a desire to progress in skills necessary in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing PCs and printers.
