Institutional Review Board

Purpose: The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is comprised of seven standing members and is designed to protect the rights and safety, as well as the emotional and physical well-being, of human research participants. All research affiliated with Cedar Crest College must be evaluated by the IRB; this goes for research being conducted by faculty, as well as for research being conducted by students under faculty supervision.

It is the responsibility of the primary investigator on any project to submit a proposal for IRB approval prior to commencing the research project. This submission must be complete and accurate in order for approval to be granted. The information and forms presented on this page change periodically, and it is essential that researchers use the most up-to-date forms in their submissions. The most recent update occurred on August 12, 2013; do not use any IRB materials that predate January, 2011, or that have no date indicated.
