            What does betrayal smell like?

            Sticky earth resinous like Dragon’s Blood?

Sharp stinging cold as peppermint

Soft and familiar like lavender

            Or exotic fresh as cilantro,

            Dispassionate and dull like parsley

Or maybe with a burning slap of ginger

Or maybe just the bitter scent

            Of Rue?
