8th Annual Conference on Health and Wellness
Allentown, PA (April 26, 2011) – The Health Connection at Cedar Crest College will host its 8th Annual Conference on Health and Wellness on Tuesday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Tompkins College Center. The theme of this year’s conference is “Choices and Lifestyles; Healthy Women, Healthy Lives.” The conference will explore the unique attributes of women’s health from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective.
The conference, which is open to the campus community, takes a holistic view of health and wellness by including activities and presentations that explore and promote the health of mind, body and spirit, as well as societal implications on wellness. The program will feature student presentations, student research posters, performances by student dancers and Mosaic, interactive workshops by communication and art students, experimental foods by nutrition students, health screenings, and much more (For the complete list of activities, click here).
Micah Sadigh, Ph.D., professor of psychology, will deliver the keynote address at noon in the 1867 Room. His lecture is titled, “Sleepless in America, Not Just in Seattle! Insomnia and How it Affects Women’s Health.”
