June Webre Earns 2011 Cedar Crest College Women in Business Award
Allentown, Pa. (March 18, 2011)—June M. Webre, an area banking executive who has served the financial needs of the Lehigh Valley for three decades, will receive the 2011 Cedar Crest College Women in Business Award and deliver the Women in Business Lecture on Wednesday, March 23, at 7 p.m. The event, which is free to the public, will be held in the Samuels Theatre of Tompkins College Center on campus.
“I am very much looking forward to returning to Cedar Crest College, my alma mater, to receive this award and speak with students and members of the community about my experiences,” said Webre, whose presentation is titled, “Banking on a Leap of Faith.”
Webre is president of the Lehigh Valley region of Team Capital Bank, a community bank based in Bethlehem, Pa., serving eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She oversees the four banking offices in the region, managing a team of personal banking officers, lenders and banking staff. She is also a member of the Lehigh Valley Regional Board of Directors for the bank, which she joined in 2006.
Prior to joining Team Capital Bank, Webre served as vice president of private banking for Lafayette Ambassador Bank (formerly Ambassador Bank). She began her banking career at First National Bank of Allentown (later Meridian Bank), where she ascended to the position of vice president/private banking.
Active in the community, Webre serves as chair of the 2011 March for Babies Walk and is a member of the board of directors and Revenue Committee for the March of Dimes. She is also a Gala Committee member for Valley Youth House. In 2006, Webre was a loaned executive for the United Way of the Lehigh Valley, and she also spent six years on the board of directors of the Alliance for Building Communities.
Webre earned a bachelor of arts degree and paralegal certificate at Cedar Crest. She graduated with honors in 2010 from Stonier National Graduate School of Banking, and also holds a certificate from the AIB Commercial Loan Banking School at Bucknell University.
She resides in Allentown with her husband, Stan Werley.
