Cedar Crest College Hosts Scholarship Competition Day on Feb. 26
Allentown, Pa. (January 24, 2012)—Cedar Crest College will host its third annual Scholarship Competition Day on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Tompkins College Center (Finalists will be asked to stay later for an interview). All participants are guaranteed a one-time $2,000 scholarship, with one outstanding competitor earning the top prize: a full, four-year tuition scholarship.
The competition is for young women with outstanding academic credentials who meet the following requirements:
- Registration is open to first-year college students only
- Students must achieve a minimum 3.2 GPA and 1050 SAT (Critical Reading and Math)
- Students must be accepted for Fall 2012 admission before registering
On Scholarship Competition Day, students will participate in a multiple-choice exam in subjects including math, English, science, arts and the humanities. Participants will also complete a written essay, tour the campus, and learn about the Cedar Crest campus from current students.
Top scoring Scholarship Competition Day participants will be eligible for scholarships ranging from several thousand dollars per year to the four-year, full-ride Trustee Scholarship. The grand prize winner will be announced this spring. Last year’s top scholarship winner, Kaitlyn Shapiro of Lehighton, is currently enrolled at Cedar Crest.
