Cedar Crest College Appoints Director of Development
Allentown, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2012)—Cedar Crest College recently appointed Debra W. Khateeb to the position of director of development. In her new role she will be responsible for major and planned gift fund raising, and will direct the private and government grant program. In addition, she will work with the Cedar Crest Fund and reunion classes.
Her prior professional experience includes leadership roles in private schools in the United Arab Emirates and Germany, nonprofit organizations, and college development programs. Much of her career has focused on raising funds to support organizational initiatives, as well as management of capital campaigns and comprehensive development programs. Prior to joining Cedar Crest, she served as executive director of foundation relations for the Montgomery County Community College Foundation, Inc., in Blue Bell, Pa.
“My oldest daughter was a transfer student and graduated from Cedar Crest College in 2007. The personalized attention and leadership skills she learned at the Crest is why I am excited to be a member of the Institutional Advancement team,” she said. “I am delighted to be a member of President Ambar’s team and look forward to working with alumnae, friends and the corporate community to advance the College’s mission.”
Khateeb is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She earned her B.A. in political science from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. She resides in Birdsboro, Pa.
