Allentown, PA (April 20, 2005) - The Rodale Aquatic Center for Civic Health at Cedar Crest College will offer a special one-evening course for people who want to experience the excitement of diving in pool conditions. The PADI Discover SCUBA class will be held on Wednesday, May 4th from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Rodale Aquatic Center.

“This is a great class for those who want to find out what it is like to dive and is a first step toward becoming a certified diver,” says Scott Rowlands, Director or the Rodale Aquatic Center.

During the class, a PADI Master Instructor will teach participants some basic concepts and SCUBA skills and all students will get to experience what it is like to dive. Those who participate in Discover SCUBA Diving are on their way to an internationally recognized certification. Skills learned during the course are also used in the PADI Open Water Diver course and may be credited toward the PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certifications.

There is a $20 fee for the class. The Discover SCUBA is open to persons aged 10 years and up.

For more information about the Discover SCUBA class or to register, please contact the Rodale Aquatic Center at 610.606.4670 or e-mail aquatics@cedarcrest.edu.
