CEDAR CREST’S ALL COLLEGE CHORUS SPRING CONCERT ON MAY 3

Allentown, PA (April 3, 2009)—Cedar Crest College’s All College Chorus, under the direction of Dot Hemerly, will perform its annual spring concert on Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre of the Tompkins College Center. Four musical groups—Women’s Chorus, The Swingin’ Madrigal Singers, The Flute Ensemble, under the direction of Elaine Martin, and The Instrumental Ensemble—will be performing along with solos, duets, and small ensembles.

The theme for the concert is “Music in Motion.” The program will include popular songs, movie tunes, and Broadway titles. Some of the featured selections include:  Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel; “Eleanor Rigby” by the Beatles; “Phantom Of The Opera” from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical;  “Wicked” by Stephen Schwartz, from the musical;  and “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang. The evening will also include a special country/western solo of the Patsy Cline hit, “Walkin’ After Midnight.”
