SPRING IS HERE AND MUSIC IS IN THE AIR AS CEDAR CREST ANNOUNCES TWO FREE PUBLIC CONCERTS

Allentown, PA (April 5, 2007) - The Cedar Crest College Performing Arts Department has announced the dates for Madrigal Singers' Concert and the All College Women's Chorus concert.

Madrigal Singers - Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.

The Cedar Crest College Madrigal Singers will present their spring concert on Sunday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the College's Alumnae Hall Little Theater.  Under the direction of Charles McAnall, the group consists of twelve young women coming from various disciplines and departments from the College.  They perform mostly a cappella singing representative of sacred and secular works from the Renaissance era, as well as rounds and contemporary folk repertoire.  The concert will also feature solos and duets performed by members of the group.  The concert is open to the public without charge.

 

All College Women's Chorus Spring Concert - Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.

The All College Women's Chorus and the Flute Ensemble of Cedar Crest College will present their spring concert on Sunday afternoon, April 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the College's Alumnae Hall Auditorium.  Under the direction of Charles McAnall, the chorus is made up of students, faculty and staff representing all disciplines.  They will be performing a selection of "oldies" including songs by John Denver, Jerome Kern, Lane and Lerner, Rodgers and Hammerstein; and a medley of tunes made popular by Louis Armstrong.

The Cedar Crest Flute Ensemble under the direction of Elaine Martin will also perform.  The concert is open to the public without charge.
