Allentown, PA (April 9, 2007) -  The Cedar Crest College Dance Company will present its annual concert, "Spring Dances," featuring an array of dance styles including jazz, tap, ballet and modern, on April 27 and 28, 2007 in the Samuels Theatre of the Tompkins College Center.

"This concert is about letting the dancers explore the endless possibilities of dance and hone their techniques and skills in a performance setting," says Robin Gerchman, director of the dance program at Cedar Crest.  "That's why the audience will see everything from a classic ballet pointe piece to a jazz number featuring big band music."

Other highlights of the program include a number that incorporates tap dancing into the familiar choreography of Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and a more personal piece inspired by the WWII love letters of the choreographer's grandparents.  Fans of the latest ballroom dance craze are sure to enjoy a faculty-choreographed work based on the passionate tango.

In addition to performances choreographed by Cedar Crest's experienced dance faculty, the program includes original choreography by a talented senior dance student, who paints a portrait of three Depression-era women through dance.

The Spring Dance Concert runs April 27th and 28th at 8:00 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.  For more information, please contact the Box Office at 610-606-4608.
