CEDAR CREST'S BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES SPECIAL ONE-CREDIT COURSES
Allentown, PA (August 11, 2004) - The Business and Management Department at Cedar Crest College will offer three one-credit courses this fall for those interested in learning more about managing small business finances, personal finances and retirement planning. Course descriptions and schedules follow:
The Financial Management Series
Financing Small Business
Monday, August 23rd, 30th & September 13th, 20th
6:30-9:00 p.m.
A study of the financial management for the small business
owner. This course covers financial planning for the business,
including budgeting and performance analysis, as well ad record
keeping, taxation, insurance and banking.
Personal Finance
Monday, November 15th, 22nd, 29th & December 6th
6:30-9:00 p.m.
For individuals who want to learn how to assess their financial
future, this course will explore personal accounts, borrowing
and investing, insurance and standards of living. The course
will outline various methods to establish and live a more secure
financial life.
Financing Retirement
Monday, October 4th, 18th, 25th & November 1st
6:30-9:00 p.m.
An introduction to retirement planning concepts, procedures
and issues for individuals and businesses. Topics covered include
pension plans, pension costs and funding of employee benefit
plans in general. Roth and Traditional IRA's and annuities
are also included. This course is particularly well suited
to individuals responsible for the design and/or management
of employee benefits plans, and is also appropriate for those
wishing to better understand their own personal benefit plans.
