ALLENTOWN, PA (August 18, 2009)--Cedar Crest College will welcome new students who reside on campus during annual Move-In Day festivities on Thursday, August 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Approximately 185 freshmen and transfer students will be moving into Steinbright, Curtis, Butz and Moore residence halls throughout the morning and early afternoon. All totaled, Cedar Crest has nearly 250 new students this semester.

After they've settled in, these new students and their families are invited to President Carmen Twillie Ambar's residence for the President's Family Picnic from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., where they can enjoy barbecue food and get to know the college president as she readies for her second year at the helm of Cedar Crest.

"We are very pleased to welcome these new students to the Cedar Crest community this week, and welcome back our returning students," said President Ambar. "With highly regarded academic programs led by first-rate faculty, a rededication to our mission to educate tomorrow's future women leaders, and a new vision to reshape the world one Cedar Crest student at a time, this is an exciting place for young women to be right now."

The remainder of the 520 or so students living on campus will move in on Saturday, August 22. In all, Cedar Crest College has approximately 1,850 full-time, part-time and graduate students from 30 different states and 32 countries of origin.
