CEDAR CREST PROFESSOR APPOINTED TO LEAD GROWING MASTERS PROGRAMS AT COLLEGE
Dr. Kim Spiezio Named Dean of Graduate Studies
Allentown, PA (December 8, 2006) - Cedar Crest College announced the appointment of Dr. Kim Spiezio to the position of Dean of Graduate Studies at the College. In the role as Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Spiezio will be responsible for the senior administration of all current and new graduate programs at Cedar Crest. All graduate program directors will report to the Dean of Graduate Studies as well as their department chairs. In addition, he will also lead, in conjunction with academic departments, the development and implementation of a program of professional Continuing Education Unit offerings for Social Work, Nursing, Nutrition, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Education and Business professionals.
Currently the chair of the History, Law and Politics Department, Dr. Spiezio has been a member of the Cedar Crest College faculty for eleven years and recently led the Democracy Project at Cedar Crest. Dr. Spiezio teaches both political science courses as well as courses in the graduate program in the Education Department. He has expertise in public policy and constitution law and is frequently called upon by the media to comment on current political issues facing the nation.

Cedar Crest College currently offers a master's degree in education and will introduce two new masters programs in nursing and forensics in 2007 (pending approval by the Pennsylvania Department of Education).
